Review: RWBY Season 1

As I’m binge watching through this before Season 4 premier in less than 2 weeks. Here’s a quick, spoiler free, review (for those who haven’t seen it yet).

Pronounced RU-BEE, it hails from Rooster Teeth studios, the same guys who gave us Red VS Blue, so you know it’s gonna be good as they truly are passionate about making it. Anime inspired, cell-shading style, with a kick ass soundtrack and awesome intense dramatic fight scenes. What’s not to like?

RWBY focuses mainly on the story of 4 girls attending Beacon Academy who are training to be Huntresses to fight the Creatures of Grimm.

Yes, fairy tale Grimm reference.

Some of the characters are a bit dry, and the pacing left much to be desired but, it gets better by the end of the season and even better in the next.

The episodes are short, ranging from 5 – 15 min. They’re short enough to keep you hooked to watch the next. Definitely check it out if you haven’t already done so!

8/10

You can find them all on Rooster Teeth. Or if you wanna collect them like me, pick up the blu-rays over at your local walmart for $7!!
